The crocuses of Drebach the Wilisch Valley
The most beautiful time in
Drebach is, of course, the florescence of crocuses between the beginning of
March and the end of April, when the „Naked Virgins“ stretch their small
violet blossoms everywhere around the village into the warm spring sun. But
this tour has to offer a lot in the other seasons as well, when the meadows
are yellow from dandelion or the autumn forests shine colourful on the
hillsides. And in Scharfenstein the experience castle waits for young and
elder conquerors...

The Valley and Family route
From the railway station Wilischthal we go directly down across the Zschopau
river, turn to the right across the Wilisch creek and beyond it to the left
up the valley on the road towards Weissbach. Opposite the hotel Schloesschen
we turn to the left, cross the creek and follow the bikeway
Wilischtalradweg on the old railway up to Herold. Across the hill to Drebach
we go on cartways. Further to Scharfenstein we can choose between the bikeway
Zschopautalradweg (dotted line; car-free, but 80 meters ascent) and the road
through the Drebach Valley. From the castle Scharfenstein back to
Wilischthal we take the comfortable bikeway
Zschopautalradweg.
