Chomutovka (Bezruc
Valley)
The 15 km long Chomutovka
valley is the longest valley in the steep descent of the Ore mountains. The
creek rises in the moors of Jelení hora in 860 m altitude. From Hora Sv.
Šebestiána to Chomutov it forms a deep, partly rocky valley, as well as the
tributary Kamenicka valley. The historical centre of the royal town of
Chomutov is worth seeing as well.

The Bikeway
The marked bikeway along the
Chomutovka valley runs on a narrow asphalt road from Hora Sv. Sebestiána as
No. 3079 to the crossroads Tretí mlyn (Third mill) and further as No. 3078
to Chomutov. At Tretí mlyn branch the tributaries Kamenicka (No. 3078) and
Krímovský potok, through which you also get up to the ridge. In both
tributary valleys you find calm reservoirs. The upper ends of all three
beautiful valleys are connected by the bikeways No. 3003 (marking is
missing) and No. 3081.
For families we recommend to
arrive to Hora Sv. Sebestiána by cyklobus and further to go easily downhill
through one of the three valleys to Chomutov. |
